Green Building Council Brasil and Chair, Americas Regional Network
Felipe Faria is the CEO of the Green Building Council Brasil, an organisation that leads the construction industry and society to sustainability transformation.
By implementing proactive and collaborative leadership, GBC Brazil has accelerated the construction industry greening process in Brazil, and the country now ranks as one of the top five markets in the world for LEED. Its influence extends to the greening of venues for the biggest international sports events like the 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games.
From 2012 to 2016, Mr Faria was part of the LEED Steering Committee, an integrated group of volunteers and USGBC staff charged with developing and maintaining LEED as a global leadership tool, preserving the integrity of the LEED rating systems, and ensuring the use of the consensus process that evolves LEED.
Since April 2016, Mr Faria has been Chair of the Americas Regional Network. The coalition of countries in North and Latin America works collaboratively to facilitate the collective and individual strength of Green Building Councils in order to help them achieve high market impact.
