Building Lasting Change with WorldGBC Congress Canada

Toronto, Canada
Sunday 03rd June 2018 to Thursday 07th June 2018

The World Green Building Council is delighted to announce that its Congress 2018 will be held in Toronto, Canada, in June, in partnership with the Canada Green Building Council’s (CaGBC) Building Lasting Change conference.

Titled “Building Lasting Change with WorldGBC Congress Canada”, the event will combine CaGBC’s conference with a WorldGBC International Stream, and WorldGBC’s annual Members’ Day and related events such as its Board, Corporate Advisory Board, and Established GBC CEO Network meetings.

The event will see Green Building Councils, international speakers and delegates from five regions of the world (Europe, Africa, MENA, the Americas, and Asia-Pacific) combine with CaGBC members, enabling Canadian delegates to showcase local expertise to international attendees to encourage collaboration, innovation and business exchange. In turn, Canadian delegates will be provided with opportunities to advance their knowledge from global examples of green building excellence, as well as major emerging international trends on the horizon.

WorldGBC will lead the ‘International Stream: Insights from the World’s Green Building Leaders and Experts’, which will feature a number of sessions including approaches and projects for net zero carbon buildings from countries like Australia and Brazil; major trends in urban planning with inspiration from the world’s cutting-edge cities; and groundbreaking insights into green building and health, wellbeing and productivity, generated from case studies from around the world.

The call for presentations for Building Lasting Change with WorldGBC Congress Canada is now open. Submit your presentation here via the online application platform. The details and criteria for presentation submissions can be found here too.

This will be your opportunity to help shape the agenda of this key event in the 2018 sustainability calendar.

The deadline for call for presentations is the end of December 2017.

Terri Wills, CEO of WorldGBC, said: “As a native Torontonian, I am delighted to come back to the city and to learn from Canadian green building leaders. We’re also excited to show what we’ve achieved around the world with the generous support and leadership of CaGBC, one of our founding Councils, as well as the governments of Canada and Ontario. The lessons, innovations and inspirations from our international Green Building Councils will not disappoint!”
