Green Building Organization

Introduction

Rwanda Green Building Organization (RWGBO) was established and officially launched in November 2016, in partnership between Rwanda Institute of Architects and Rwanda Housing Authority. It will function as the catalyst of change for sustainability of buildings and communities in the country.

RwGBO will also help to introduce legislation, provide certification, courses and training all aimed to disseminate and implement the green urbanisation and green buildings Government agenda. It gathers different actors in the construction industry; architects, engineers, planners, environmentalists, property developers, suppliers, contractors and also government institutions such as Rwanda Housing Authority, Rwanda Environment Management Authority, National Industrial Research and Development Agency, and the City of Kigali.

WorldGBC membership exceeds 75 countries as two new Councils join

Membership of the World Green Building Council has surpassed 75 countries, as two new Green Building Councils have joined the organisation.
