Knauf Insulation celebrates double sustainability breakthrough

Knauf Insulation, the global insulation company and a member of WorldGBC’s Europe Regional Network, has achieved two of its core 2020 sustainability targets this year, four years ahead of schedule.

Since 2010 the company has reduced its energy use by 20.9 per cent and cut CO2 emissions by 25.1 per cent These figures are highlighted in the company’s annual publication Insulation Matters

The magazine showcases Knauf Insulation’s pioneering developments over the past year, including a radical rethink of real performance research through the energy efficient renovation of 190 homes in the UK, in line with WorldGBC’s recent Build Upon project. It also includes information on the company’s Building Information Modelling innovations, breakthroughs in acoustic research and expertise designed to maximise green building rating system points.

Siân Hughes, Knauf Insulation’s Director of External Affairs, said:

“Every page of this publication demonstrates how we are rising to the global challenge of climate change by ensuring energy efficiency in buildings is at the heart of everything we do.

“Throughout our company, through investment, continuous improvement and commitment at every level, we have also challenged ourselves to do our jobs better. Not only have we seen our energy use and CO2 emissions fall below the 20 per cent targets we set for 2020, but we have seen our waste to landfill drop by 54 per cent since 2010.”
