WorldGBC welcomes new staff to deliver green buildings for everyone, everywhere

WorldGBC is delighted to welcome five new members of staff who will help to deliver our mission of green buildings for everyone, everywhere.

The new team members take on a variety of roles which span the entire organisation, from our global projects and Regional Networks, to membership and communications.

WorldGBC now has 13 full time staff, and one part-time member, the largest number of employees in the organisation’s 15 year history.

 

Victoria Kate Burrows - Project Manager, Advancing Net Zero

Victoria joins as the Project Manager for Advancing Net Zero, a role in which she will oversee and support the Green Building Councils participating in the project, as well as other partnerships.

Victoria has a strong background in the sustainable development industry, and was recently an on-site Head of Sustainability for an international contractor. She has also co-authored the book: A Whole System Approach to High-Performance Green Buildings

Philip Lam - Administration and Membership Officer

Phil is supporting WorldGBC’s operations and membership in areas such as internal policy procedures, applications for member Green Building Councils, and membership engagement.

Before joining WorldGBC, Phil worked for several large international organisations including the Hong Kong Government and the NHS.

Georgina Eldridge - Marketing and Communications Officer

Georgina is responsible for supporting WorldGBC's wide-ranging marketing and communications activities, from social media to its website, and manages WorldGBC's Speakers' Bureau. 

She previously worked for a marketing and communications agency where she developed communications campaigns for clients in the property, architecture, design and travel sectors.

Elspeth Holland - Junior Project Manager

Elspeth is a Junior Project Manager at the World Green Building Council, a role in which she provides support to the Global Projects and Partnerships team through research, reporting and coordination with Green Building Councils.

Elspeth was previously a Research Assistant for WorldGBC, and helped to coordinate its activates around COP22 in Morocco.

Before joining WorldGBC, Elspeth earned a Bachelor of Environmental Studies at the University of Waterloo, and completed co-operative work terms at Waterfront Toronto and DIRTT Environmental Solutions in Canada, and at a start-up company based in Berlin, Germany.

Mohammad Asfour, Regional Manager, MENA Network

Mohammad Asfour is the Regional Manager of the MENA Network, working on a part-time basis. In this role Mohammad works closely with the Director of Membership and Regional Networks to advance the development of the MENA Network. His work includes fundraising to increase the capacity of the Network and building a culture of collaboration among the MENA Green Building Councils. 

Mohammad is a WorldGBC Board member, and has chaired the WorldGBC’s MENA Regional Network and the Jordan Green Building Council.
