Ahmad is the Project Officer for WorldGBC’s Advancing Net Zero project, working towards achieving “net zero” carbon for all buildings by 2050.

In this role, he works across the project’s various global and regional activities and supports the recruitment for and delivery of the Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment.  

Ahmad has a diverse background — he provided technical and managerial consultations to the delivery of many development projects in Jordan. He also worked as a Consultant and Project Coordinator at the Jordan Green Building Council, where he contributed to the design of an Energy Efficiency Retrofit Program and Certification Scheme for Jordan.

Additionally, Ahmad managed the retrofitting of 50 homes as part of the Green Affordable Homes Project, and coordinated a project for enhancing the green movement. His previous work also includes assisting the review of the Jordan Environmental Fund strategy and working as an Office Civil Engineer in a mega construction project.

Currently, Ahmad is expanding his knowledge about cities engineering, policies and systems within the sustainability and equity contexts by pursuing a Master’s degree in Cities Engineering and Management from the University of Toronto.
