8th Annual EmiratesGBC Congress

Dubai, UAE
Wednesday 01st May 2019 to Thursday 02nd May 2019

The 8th Annual EmiratesGBC Congress will be held on 1 - 2 May 2019 with the theme Circling in on Zero: Circular Economy in the Built Environment.

This year’s flagship event will explore how a circular economy approach within the building and construction sector can support the UAE to decarbonise and achieve the sustainable development goals of Vision 2021. The building sector is a major contributor to climate change globally and there is an urgent need for the industry to innovate across all aspects of the supply chain and lifecycle of buildings to reduce the environmental impact of our cities.

Building on last year’s landmark Congress on Net Zero Buildings and Cities, EmiratesGBC will continue the discussion by focusing on how a shift to a circular economy is integral to a net zero carbon future and exploring different aspects of the green building lifecycle; energy & water management, sustainable building materials, embodied carbon and waste management.

Day 2 of the Congress will be a screening of the documentary ‘Closing the Loop’. This award-winning documentary highlights the urgent need to switch to a circular economy and through global case studies innovate solutions to make this switch.
