The Green Room 2019

Dublin, Ireland
Wednesday 10th April 2019

The GREEN ROOM is the Irish Green Building Council’s annual non-residential sustainable building gathering. As the nearly Zero Energy Building (nZEB) standard comes in force on 1st January 2019 for commercial buildings, this year's conference forms part of the year long process of creating IGBC’s manifesto for genuinely carbon neutral and circular buildings. The recent reports from IPCC show that we need to move far faster to avoid catastrophic climate change, and if you think nZEB is the end goal, think again!.

Irish Green Building Council is delighted to welcome Tonje Værdal Frydenlund,  managing director of international Norwegian and global architects and designers – Snøhetta  who will talk about how architects can drive the agenda presenting their involvement in the Powerhouse initiative to create energy positive buildings. They will discuss their interdisciplinary process and collaboration through Powerhouse. A Powerhouse is an energy-positive building that in the course of a 60-year period generates more renewable energy than the total amount of energy that would be required not only to sustain daily operations but also to build, produce materials and demolish the building.

World Green Building Council's Victoria Burrows, Head of Advancing Net Zero will present progress on Advancing Net Zero. to move all buildings to Net Zero Carbon emissions not only considering operational carbon but also embodied carbon.

Join Irish GBC at GREEN ROOM 2019 to be inspired, challenged, and together move the industry forward.

Further information on speakers and agenda to be published early 2019.
