Greenbuild is the world’s largest event dedicated to green building. In 2019, Mexico will host its second Greenbuild from 18-19 June at the Hilton Reforma hotel in Mexico City. The conference will offer technical workshops, special networking events and robust educational sessions, covering all aspects of green building.

H03: Innovation in Energy Efficiency for Cities in Latin America

This session will discuss the impact that buildings have in regards to climate change, and how through the correct strategies cities in Latin America can deliver energy efficiency and savings in the development of new and existing projects, as a response to prevent and mitigate climate change and to support the SDG agreed by countries in Paris Agreements. The discussion will begin with an introduction to the global panorama, the impact of buildings, the importance of addressing this situation, and the need for immediate and effective action to draw a path to energy efficiency that will lead us to a Carbon Zero future. Success stories and energy efficiency measures implemented in Colombia and Mexico will be presented, taking as a reference the WorldGBC Americas Regional Project, Climate Action for Cities supported by the Building Efficiency Accelerator (BEA).
