SUMMARY:INDICATE LIFE Whole Life Carbon Network Event
DESCRIPTION:As a key contributor to the advancement of WLC data and policy\, we are delighted to invite you to the first Whole Life Carbon (WLC) Network Event on June 4th in Brussels. \n\n\n\nThe built environment is responsible for approximately 40% of all global carbon emissions. In order to align with the 1.5°C Paris Agreement goals and reach climate neutrality by 2050\, Europe must act now in reducing whole life carbon (WLC) emissions across Europe’s built environment. Addressing the WLC emissions includes tackling both operational and embodied carbon. \n\n\n\nAs a platform for sharing insights and knowledge on WLC policies the Network Event will: \n\n\n\n\nExplore the European policy context \n\n\n\nShare insights and learnings from INDICATE on developing the foundation for WLC Policy\n\n\n\nExplore further levers to reduce WLC (“looking beyond”)\n\n\n\nDiscuss WLC Policy implementation to decarbonise the European built environment and how to overcome key barriers. \n\n\n\nBe a forum for networking and sharing learnings among academia\, industry\, government and EU policy makers.\n\n\n\n\nRegister now to secure your spot – please note there is limited capacity at the event. Priority will be given to professionals active in the European built environment\, at the discretion of the organisers.

SUMMARY:IEA 10th Annual Global Conference on Energy Efficiency 2025
DESCRIPTION:The International Energy Agency’s 10th Annual Global Conference on Energy Efficiency is being co-hosted by IEA Executive Director Dr Fatih Birol and European Commissioner for Energy and Housing Dan Jørgensen\, in Brussels on 12 and 13 June 2025. The event is being held in partnership with the Energy Efficiency Movement. \n\n\n\nThe 10th edition of the IEA’s landmark event comes at a pivotal moment. Governments agreed at COP28 to double the rate of global energy efficiency improvements by 2030. Achieving this goal is critical if the international community is to bring about the secure\, affordable clean energy system that can meet our shared climate goals. But progress must accelerate rapidly if the goal is to be met. \n\n\n\nThe 10th Global Conference provides the key forum in 2025 for Ministers\, CEOs and senior leaders to come together to chart a path towards achieving the doubling goal. They will examine how best to maximise energy efficiency’s potential to boost affordability for consumers\, industrial competitiveness and energy security – in every region of the world. Over two days of high-level panels\, roundtable discussions\, workshops and meetings\, participants will develop solutions for enacting stronger policy action and unlocking investment in energy efficiency.  \n\n\n\nA ministerial roundtable chaired by the co-hosts will provide the setting for government decision makers to discuss how to move forward. A parallel CEO roundtable\, held in collaboration with the Energy Efficiency Movement\, will allow industry leaders to examine the challenges and opportunities they face in order to overcome barriers to further progress. \n\n\n\nWe look forward to welcoming delegates from around the world to this pivotal event. Participation is by invitation only. If you have any questions then please contact efficiency.conference@iea.org

SUMMARY:European Sustainable Construction Conference 2025
DESCRIPTION:The European Sustainable Construction Conference will unite policymakers\, industry leaders\, academics\, and civil society to address the construction sector’s role in driving sustainability and competitiveness. Contributing 9% of the EU’s GDP and employing 18 million people\, the sector also generates over 35% of the EU’s waste and 36% of energy-related greenhouse gas emissions. \n\n\n\nKey discussions will focus on aligning with EU policies like the Circular Economy Action Plan\, Construction Transition Pathway\, and New European Bauhaus Initiative. Topics include reducing waste\, advancing material reuse\, lifecycle design\, and managing construction waste to meet circular economy goals. SUMMARY:WorldGBC: NDCs Building Local Impact Webinar
DESCRIPTION:WorldGBC invites you to the inaugural webinar in our #BeBoldOnBuildings COP30 series: NDCs Building Local Impact. \n\n\n\nThis year’s COP30 in Belém\, Brazil\, will be a critical inflection point for global climate action as countries update Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). In this webinar we will uncover the gaps and opportunities for policymakers and industry to #BeBoldOnBuildings; and officially launch our new ‘NDC Scorecard for Sustainable Buildings’ — a tool which enables governments to analyse\, align and action bolder building policies ahead of COP30. \n\n\n\nAbout the NDC Scorecard \n\n\n\nMost countries’ NDCs and policies are not ambitious or detailed enough when it comes to the built environment. Whilst 81% of NDCs reference buildings\, only 18% include quantified targets and just 16% outline funding strategies. \n\n\n\nOur NDC Scorecard tool addresses these issues whilst supporting governments and key stakeholders by: highlighting the gaps\, identifying action areas\, supporting advocacy engagement\, and preparing political actors to develop wider decarbonisation roadmaps. \n\n\n\nSpeakers \n\n\n\nWe are delighted to be joined by keynote speaker Antonio Francisco da Costa e Silva Neto\, Ambassador from the Office of the Minister of Cities in Brazil\, to share insights on the built environment ahead of COP30. \n\n\n\nWe will also hear from government officials and Green Building Council implementers in Brazil and the United Arab Emirates to discuss what a strong outcome for the built environment at COP30 looks like\, and the role NDCs play. \n\n\n\nAgenda: \n\n\n\n\nKeynote speech from Antonio Francisco da Costa e Silva Neto\, Ambassador\, Chief International Advisor\, Office of the Minister of Cities\, Brazil \n\n\n\nWorldGBC NDC Scorecard for Sustainable Buildings launch and live demo  \n\n\n\nPanel discussion diving into international and country-level NDC\, policy and community implementation in the lead-up to COP30:\n\nAntonio Francisco da Costa e Silva Neto\, Ambassador\, Chief International Advisor\, Office of the Minister of Cities\, Brazil \n\n\n\nFelipe Faria\, CEO\, GBC Brasil \n\n\n\nCarlos Andres Amaya\, Programs Development & Oversight Section Head\, UAE Government  \n\n\n\n\n\nQ&A

SUMMARY:Better buildings: Action-driven solutions for decarbonisation
DESCRIPTION:The built environment accounts for nearly 40% of global CO₂ emissions—making it central to climate action. As countries update their climate pledges ahead of COP30\, this moment is critical to closing the gap to 1.5ºC. \n\n\n\nThis session spotlights bold actions from governments and industry driving a resilient\, decarbonised built environment. We’ll showcase global best practices\, including the UK’s updated NDC\, and hear from leaders transforming their asset portfolios. \n\n\n\nEchoing Ambassador André Corrêa do Lago’s call for real-world impact\, the panel will explore what’s working\, what’s next\, and how the sector can fully deliver on the Paris Agreement.
