Johnson Controls appoints Rita Rodriguez as Vice President and General Manager, Building Solutions, Latin America

Johnson Controls (NYSE: JCI) has announced it has appointed Rita Rodriguez as Vice President and General Manager, Building Solutions, Latin America, effective 1 January 2022.

Rodriguez reports to Tomas Brannemo, Vice President and President, Building Solutions, EMEALA. She transitions to this new role after leading Strategy and Business Operations for the Europe, Middle East, Africa and Latin America region.

Tomas Brannemo, Vice President and President, Building Solutions, EMEALA, said:

“Rita brings great depth and knowledge to this role from her time spent as Strategy and Transformation director in Latin America in 2018-19 and extensive growth strategy and execution experience from serving as vice president of Strategy and Business Operations for our EMEALA organisation in 2020-21."

We are confident that her experience will significantly impact our Latin America business as we look to accelerate our growth strategy in the region. I'd like to thank Osvaldo for his leadership and dedication since he joined the company in 2014 to lead the Latin America business, and wish him all the best as he continues shaping the future of the organization in his new role of VP & GM, Security Solutions, BSNA. I am proud and excited to once again have Rita in the Latin America organisation, this time, leading this thriving region. This will also add to our January 2021 sustainability commitment of intending to double the representation of women leaders globally within five years."

Rodriguez will work with former Vice President and General Manager for Latin America, Osvaldo San Martin, on a smooth transition and handover. In addition, she will continue to lead Strategy and Business Operations for EMEALA until a new leadership structure is announced and is based at the company's Latin America headquarters in Boca Raton, Florida, responsible for working with the regional general managers and the EMEALA centralised functions to lead the Latin America team. Together they will accelerate innovation through Johnson Controls OpenBlue digital platform and deliver to its customers on the key secular trends of sustainability, energy efficiency, and healthy, safe, and connected smart buildings.

Rodriguez holds a Bachelor and Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from Madrid University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.
