Norwegian Green Building Council and Green Building Alliance to become joint organisation

Monday 23rd April 2018

Norwegian Green Building Council and Green Building Alliance have announced they will merge into a joint organisation with effect from 1 July 2018.

The merge was agreed at the annual general meetings earlier this month in Oslo, Norway. Katharina Th. Bramslev will be the CEO of the new organisation, and the chair of the board confirmed as Hege Schøyen Dillner - Executive Vice President of Veidekke ASA, Norway´s largest contractor.

The two organisations will continue to operate separately until the formal merge on 1 July, but Bramslev commenced post as CEO of both NGBC and Green Building Alliance on 4 April in the interim period. Kjersti Folvik, former CEO of NGBC, will be available for Bramslev and the board throughout the month of April.

Katharina Th. Bramslev, CEO of Norwegian Green Building Council, said: "We bring with us the best of both organisations, including our skilled employees, to create a stronger and more robust organisation. The purpose is to drive the Norwegian construction and real estate sector into a future where consideration for environment and sustainability is the obvious choice."

Hege Schøyen Dillner, chair of Norwegian Green Building Council, said: "The new organisation will be an interaction arena for the entire value chain where members can gain inspiration and expertise and exchange experiences."

The period between April and July will be used to set the direction, find new premises and a new name for the new organisation.

Norwegian Green Building Council is an Established Member of WorldGBC's Europe Regional Network. For more information on NGBC's merge, contact Katharina Th. Bramslev.
