Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment - Introduction: Businesses & Organisations:
This introduction document outlines the information and requirments of the Commitment for businesses and organisations. Prospective signatories should read this in order to understand what is required of them at each stage.
Aligning Initatives:
WorldGBC belives that industry and sector alignment will enable further collaboration between stakeholders in order to achieve the rapid decarbonisation of the built environment.
- Aligning Iniatives: GRESB - Comparing the Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment and GRESB.
Further Guidance:
WorldGBC is committed to continually improving the Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment and guidance surrounding all aspects from technical directions to suggestions on advocacy.
- Going beyond 'direct control' - additional guidance on how signatories can further encourage and influence emissions reductions for activities beyond their direct control, including scope 3 emissions. This is intended to stimulate further action across the building value chain and help in building collaborative approaches to decarbonisation.
- Advancing Net Zero Whole Life Carbon: Offsetting Residual Emissions from the Building and Construction Sector - WorldGBC’s recommendations for when, how, and why offsetting may be used to advance net zero carbon emissions in the built environment.
