1. Commit
Maintain carbon neutrality achieved in July 2020, continue to reduce operational emissions and maximise embodied carbon reductions for any new developments or major renovations of existing assets where applicable.
2. Disclose
Disclose emissions data publicly on website in line with the PAS 2060 Carbon Neutrality specification. Use Power BI to track and communicate carbon emissions across the company globally.
3. Act
Measure and review carbon impact across portfolio and building lifecycle, use it to inform implementation of energy consumption reductions and purchase renewables. Maximise reduction of embodied carbon of any new developments or major renovations of existing assets if applicable. Initiate carbon offset projects for any residual operational or upfront carbon emissions.
4. Verify
Continue to verify carbon neutrality status through BSI PAS 2060 accreditation via an independent third party.
5. Advocate
Advocate for wider industry transformation and continue to promote zero carbon pathways for infrastructure clients. Expand efforts with the Climate Change & Sustainability Practice, creating a strategy for advocacy at the buildings scale. By 2040, Mott MacDonald will target net zero across operations without the purchase of offsets.
