Khaled Bushnaq is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Energy Management Services – EMS, the first Energy Saving / Service Company (ESCO) in the Middle East and the Vice Chairman of EGBC (Emirates Green Building Council).
He established the first 3 ESCOs in the region: Jordan, United Arab Emirates and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. His company has developed a unique expertise in energy efficiency and sustainability across various sectors with over 900 energy related studies and projects successfully executed. EMS is involved in 7 Platinum projects, 62 Gold, 26 Silver and 13 Certificate, being responsible for achieving 1st LEED Platinum School in the region, 1st LEED Gold School and Nursery in Jordan, 1st LEED project in Egypt & Djibouti, and 115 building ESCO retrofit project in UAE. Now EMS is addressing net-zero communities and have already started to work on net-zero schools in UAE & KSA.
Khaled, having full grasp of the opportunities and challenges that go with the demands of the business, has evolved into a leading figure in energy management in the Middle East, and was the recipient of the 1993 "Special Recognition Award" at the 16th World Energy Congress, and bestowed the title "Legend in Energy - 2010" by the Association of Energy Engineers – USA at its 33rd World Energy Congress, in honor of his stellar career in the domain of energy efficiency.
