We believe in strong governance and accountability – to our mission, to the sustainable built environment movement, and to our member Green Building Councils.
And this is the role of our Board of Directors, a group of highly experienced building industry professionals, who are nominated by our Established Green Building Councils and elected by our full membership of Green Building Councils. The Board of Directors are closely affiliated with our members.
The Board’s role is to advise and oversee WorldGBC’s organisational strategy and governance, and to ensure we are operating effectively as a not-for-profit organisation and delivering on our mission.
We follow best practice governance and elect each Board member every two years. Our Executive Committee (Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer and Secretary) is elected every year.
