The Libya Green Building Council (Libya GBC) is a non-profit organisation focused on promoting sustainable building practices and environmental responsibility within Libya’s construction industry. Libya GBC has launched many innovative initiatives in which diverse stakeholders—including architects, public sector representatives, and community members—have actively participated. These initiatives include the UnEarth series and a range of specialised workshops. The organisation contributes to the development of green building standards and educational programs for architects and construction professionals, while also promoting the preservation of architectural heritage adapted to modern sustainable practices. Libya GBC continues to educate and empower communities by providing them with the tools and capacity to exchange knowledge with local and global sustainability practitioners, with a strong focus on climate resilience and cultural preservation in the North African context.
