Signatory of WLC Commitment
Commit to owning, occupying and developing buildings that are net zero in operation and net zero in embodied carbon emissions by 2030, across portfolio properties within direct control.
Measure and disclose operational carbon through energy consumption and carbon emission metrics to investors and tenants via annual voluntary and legal reporting frameworks including NGER, GRESB and ESG reports from FY2020. By 2030, ISPT will measure and disclose embodied carbon of development assets within direct control.
Deliver on operational emissions through ISPT’s carbon neutral pathway, including energy efficiency measures through Continuous Improvement Program; on-site renewables through National Solar Rollout; and off-site renewables via Power Purchasing Agreements. Develop and implement plans to address embodied carbon emissions.
Verify asset level performance through third party certification schemes such as NABERS and Green Star and will undertake assurance of portfolio performance via third party auditors.
ISPT will support the transition towards net zero carbon buildings by engaging with tenants, JV partners and external business partners, and advocating within wider property sector forums.
