Commit to reducing emissions in line with our public ambitions, and to occupying operational net zero assets by 2030.
Disclose energy consumption, Scope 1, 2 and 3 operational emissions publicly, and report progress against our public emission reduction ambitions.
Implement a decarbonisation roadmap for off-site electricity generation and energy efficiency improvements in owned and occupied buildings, including changes to technical and design requirements so that solutions are specified. Engage landlords and agents around the provision of renewable electricity to buildings where NatWest does not procure utilities.
Verify energy consumption and emissions data at asset and portfolio level via independent third-party verification.
Continue to develop and support climate and transition financing solutions that accelerate the shift to net zero, including an ambition for 50% of UK residential mortgages have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of “C” or better by 2030, where EPCs are available.
