Rinske van Heiningen
Rinske van Heiningen is Sustainability Director of AkzoNobel (since June 2019), the global sustainability leader in the paints and coatings industry. In this role, she is responsible for the development, implementation and repositioning of the sustainability strategy for AkzoNobel as a focused paints and coatings company.
Rinske joined AkzoNobel in 2011 and since then has been active in several roles from regulatory affairs to innovation management, leading and developing the global approach towards innovating with startups. For AkzoNobel she developed the first global Chemical Startup Challenge and represents/ed the company in various high-level committees and associations like Cefic, the EIP Smart Cities and Communities (European Commission), the action Cluster on Sustainable Districts & Built Environment (European Commission), a thinktank for the Dutch government for the Dutch Urban Agenda and the WBCSD.
Rinske has a master’s degree in marketing and communications and over 24 years of international experience in sustainability, innovation, public and regulatory affairs, strategic marketing and communication (profit and nonprofit), multi stakeholders & change management, building and improving teams and networks in national and multinational matrix organizations.
