Bruno Sauer graduated as an architect at the Henri van de Velde-School of the University of Antwerp, and continued his studies with master degrees in urban planning and architecture at the Technical University of Cataluña.
After 6 years of collaboration in the team of Pich Architects, he started his own office in Valencia. His professional career as an architect put the focus on urban development plans, combining design project with research and innovation, with an exclusive focus on climate change adaptation and human comfort.
Between 2003 and 2017 he was teaching both at the Technical University of Valencia and the European University of Valencia. He has been invited as guest teacher and speaker in several European universities.
In 2011 he became responsible for the Technical Development of the rating tool VERDE in the Green Building Council España. In 2015 he was asked to take up the full responsibility of as CEO of GBCe. He is member of the Board of Directors of WorldGBC since July 2016. He is co-founder of the European Think Tank G17 (www.g17.eu) and global network Building Sense Now (www-buildingsensenow.com).
