HKGBC Latest Updates – April 2013

HKGBC put forward an activation plan for the HK3030 Campaign at this remarkable event on 3 March 2013, with the witness of officiating guests from various government bureaux and departments, as well as key stakeholders like the professional institutions, education sector and the green groups. The HK3030 Campaign puts forth a roadmap to reduce the absolute electricity consumption of buildings in Hong Kong by 30% of the 2005 level by the year 2030.

Launch of the Hong Kong Green School Guide

In view of the importance of the education sector in driving behavioural change among the younger generations, the “Hong Kong Green School Guide” was officially launched in March 2013 to provide practical guidelines for principals and school administrators to better understand ways to improve building energy efficiency and engage students for reducing energy consumption.

Signing of HK3030 Energy Saving Charter (Education Sector)

HKGBC engaged with the education sector and received tremendous support from local institutions and schools. 14 pioneers signed the Energy Saving Charter (Education Sector) in March 2013, which served as a pledge for institutions and schools to commit in creating a green campus for students.

SB13 Hong Kong Regional Conference

Co-organised with the Construction Industry Council (CIC), the SB13 Hong Kong Regional Conference will be held under the theme of “Urban Density & Sustainability”, on 12-13 September 2013.
