As it is our corporate social responsibility (CSR) for our company to reduce our environmental impact; Wo Lee Capital Holdings Ltd. and its subsidiary company, Wo Lee Steel Co., Ltd. has implemented various environmental policies and measures at our offices and fabrication & distribution centres to take part in conserving the global environment.

To achieve our CSR goal, Wo Lee Steel Co., Ltd. installed solar panels and electrical energy storage devices on the roof of our fabrication & distribution center located at Ping Che, Fanling. With the total solar panels’ area at over 100,000 sq ft; Wo Lee Steel is committed to promoting the application of sustainable development of renewable energy in all aspects, including office operation and machinery fabrication; making a “green” contribution to society. After installation of the solar power system, the following achievements have been attained:

Achievements
In 2021, 1,151,305.00 kWh of electricity generated on-site from our solar panels system was transferred into the electricity grid of CLP. The total carbon emissions saved, when compared with the electricity generated from non-renewable method was 693,143.26 kgCO2-e.

Offsetting Emissions from Energy consumption
The energy consumption of our entire Wo Lee Steel operations is mainly from: electricity, diesel/ unleaded petrol used in crane trucks or private cars for operation, and acetylene cylinder fuel used in fabrication operation. The total carbon emission from energy consumption in the year 2021 was 667,800.28 kgCO2-e.

In all, for 2021, Wo Lee Steel was able to achieved net-zero carbon emissions as the emissions from the entire company’s energy consumption were more than offset by its solar panels green energy production.
