WSP’s new Brisbane office brought together 600 staff from three offices, creating a single vibrant and sustainable workplace.
Strategies used to promote physical and mental health include biophilic design, enhanced daylighting, active furnishings (including exercise bikes with laptop stands) and flexible workspace that accommodates a variety of uses – from interactive group breakout space to smaller quiet spaces that support focus and concentration.
Pursuing Fitwel certification required a high level of collaboration with stakeholders who otherwise wouldn’t have been part of the process. Input for several features related to health and wellbeing was required from WSP’s corporate and facilities management teams.
The Brisbane office achieved the highest score of any Fitwel certification in Australia to date. Furthermore, the building also achieved a 5 Star Green Star As-Built Rating and 5 Star NABERS energy rating for its environmental sustainability design and performance.
