As CEO of the World Green Building Council, Cristina Gamboa leads a network of 75+ national Green Building Councils (GBCs) which represents 47,000 companies. Together, this network is championing scalable solutions and effective local advocacy to secure the sustainable transformation of the built environment.
As an economist with a leadership record in sustainability, policy and multi-stakeholder alliances, Cristina harnesses the convening power and expertise of WorldGBC to foster alignment and partnerships among businesses, governments and communities across continents. The common goal is to deliver, at speed and scale, on the economic, social and environmental benefits powered by the clean energy transition and the growing application of sustainability best practice in built assets.
Cristina has been a leading voice of the Buildings Breakthrough agenda, and a trusted convener of the #BuildingToCOP Coalition. She is committed to inspiring and leading the equitable buildings transition by also contributing to international platforms such as the UN Climate Summits COP, WEF, IEA and the #WomenLeadingOnClimate initiative.
Cristina’s journey involves an ongoing commitment to living yoga, under the inspiration of the masters of Bihar School of Yoga in India, and she finds joy in nature and volunteer work.
