Partner, SYSTEMIQ / Vice-Chair, Energy Transitions Commission/Executive Director, Mission Possible Partnership SYSTEMIQ

Nominated by Green Building Council Costa Rica.

Faustine Delasalle is an experienced coalition builder and recognised thought leader in the field of the energy and industry transitions. She was the first Director of the Energy Transitions Commission (ETC), where she spearheaded the ETC’s analysis on how to achieve net-zero energy systems globally by mid-century, establishing the ETC as a thought leader on the energy transition and developing an extensive network of global leaders across energy, industry, finance, and civil society. She is now the Chief Executive Officer of the Mission Possible Partnership (MPP), an alliance focused on supercharging the decarbonisation of some of the world’s highest-emitting industries in heavy industry and transport, which she created in 2019.

Faustine has approached questions related to the decarbonisation of the built environment through multiple angles – clean electrification of building operations, decarbonisation of residential heating, embedded carbon in construction materials. She has developed an extensive network in sectors which are critical to the built environment — particularly the energy, materials, mobility, and finance sectors. She also has firsthand experience, as a former political advisor in different local authorities in France, of the complex combination of economic, social, and environmental imperatives that policymakers have to juggle when it comes to the built environment.

Faustine has been a board member of the WorldGBC for the past two years, serving first on the Governance and Nominations Committee, then on the Fundraising and Partnerships Committee. She leverages her experience at the head of fast-growing, collaborative, mission-focused organisations to help inform the WorldGBC’s leadership team on its strategy, in particular on how to align a rich but fragmented landscape of initiatives, leverage partnerships for impact, and scale influence on both public and private decision makers to drive real-economy changes.
