Ilari Aho is Vice President of Sustainability & Regulatory Affairs at Uponor Corporation, and is responsible for Uponor Group’s sustainability agenda, regulatory advocacy, international industry association networks, and international standardisation activities. He holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering and has close to 30 years of experience in business development, R&D and product development in the fields of radiant heating and cooling, low energy buildings and renewable energy.
Ilari has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Nomination Committee Chair of Green Building Council Finland. He currently serves as Executive Board Member and Treasurer of The European Construction, Built Environment and Energy Efficient Building Technology Platform (ECTP), Vice President of ENCORD (European Network of Construction Companies for R&D) and Steering Committee Member of EHI (Association of the European Heating Industry). He has also served as President of EnR (the European Energy Network), President and Board Member of iiSBE (International Initiative for a Sustainable Built Environment) and in a number of other global networks in the energy efficiency and green building fields.
llari Aho joined the WorldGBC Board of Directors in 2017, and he has been nominated by Green Building Council Finland. He was elected as WorldGBC Vice-Chair in July 2020, and WorldGBC Secretary in July 2021.
