1. Commit

Commit to having all existing and new assets under direct property portfolio certified as carbon neutral, maximising embodied carbon reductions and compensating for any residual upfront embodied carbon where appropriate, by 2030.

2. Disclose

Measure and publicly disclose energy consumption and details of whole life emissions and offsets purchased using the Public Disclosure Statement on the Climate Active website. Identify performance gaps and opportunities to reduce carbon emissions while improving energy productivity.

3. Act

Maintain and update energy efficiency roadmaps for existing assets with reference to energy audits undertaken and apply the same for new assets. Consider life cycle analysis, return on cost (ROC) and payback period for all strategies. Maintain and improve the 2021 achievement of 42% reduction in CO2 emissions across Active Super direct property since 2019. Continue to purchase 100% GreenPower for base building needs.

4. Verify

Verify energy consumption and whole life carbon emissions (embodied carbon where appropriate) across the Active Super direct property portfolio. All existing Active Super NABERS Rated properties achieved carbon neutral certification (base building) under the Climate Active Carbon Neutral Standard for Buildings by 2020.

5. Advocate

Active Super remains committed to ensuring that responsible management practices are in place to minimise the environmental impact of its properties and that they are making a positive contribution to society. They aim to continuously improve sustainability performance and play a leadership role in the industry.
