Commit to only owning assets that operate at net zero carbon by 2030.
Disclose progress on carbon emissions reduction through publishing measured performance data on the ARC platform and via website annually.
Implement a roadmap to undertake deep green energy retrofits (lighting, HVAC, and other equipment) and install on-site renewable energy systems on all existing buildings. This will result in retrofitting and operating 45 buildings at net zero energy (NZE) by 2022 and the remaining 33 existing buildings as NZE by 2030; and to design and construct all new buildings to NZE standards.
All assets will be certified under GBC Brazil’s Zero Energy program. 45 buildings will be certified by 2022 and all others by 2030.
Advocate for the goals of the Commitment and wider update of net zero assets by incorporating nearly zero energy buildings (NZEBs) teaching into the curriculum and using schools as living labs. Engage the community of staff and parents and communicate the financial and environmental benefits of going NZE.
