Act Governing the Mitigation of Climate Change in Baden-Württemberg (KSG) as the superior frame for climate action (Act under revision). Its goals are to reduce region-wide emissions by:
- 25% in 2020 compared to 1990 levels
- 90% in 2050 compared to 1990 levels
Integrated Energy and Climate Protection Plan (IEKK) as a conceptual basis to achieve the climate protection goals with specific targets and measures (under revision):
- Target of 80% renewable energy consumption by 2050
- Target to reduce energy consumption by 50% by 2050
Förderung der seriellen Sanierung von Wohngebäuden (Funding Programme of Serial Renovation of Residential Buildings): Promotion of the industrial prefabrication of façade and roof elements and their installation on residential buildings
Funding programmes of the KfW (German state-owned development bank) for energy-saving measures and renewable energy production
Zukunft Altbau (Future of Old Buildings): Programme promoted by Ministry of the Environment, Climate Protection and the Energy Sector Baden-Württemberg supporting all aspects of energy renovation of residential and non-residential buildings
Renewable Heat Act (EWärmeG): Mandatory percentage of renewable heat when exchanging the heating system in residential and non-residential buildings
Individual renovation roadmaps at state and at federal level as a consulting instrument
Klimaschutz-Plus (Climate Protection Plus): Funding programme for municipalities and other actors inter alia for particular sustainable and energy-efficient refurbishments
Klimaschutz mit System (Climate Protection with a System): Funding programme for investments to reduce energy consumption in municipalities and to reduce CO2 emissions (with means of the European Regional Development Fund ERDF)
Activities of the Climate and Energy Agency Baden-Württemberg (KEA) and network of regional energy agencies to inform citizens about energy-saving measures and respective funding possibilities
Klimaschutzpakt (Climate Mitigation pact): Agreement with 249 municipalities, cities and districts to reinforce the local-level commitment to climate mitigation including numerous options for assistance
