1. Commit

Commit to only owning and occupying net zero operational carbon assets, maximising the reduction of embodied carbon emissions of new developments and major renovations, compensating for any residual upfront embodied emissions, by 2030.

2. Disclose

Measure, calculate and publicly disclose energy consumption and whole life carbon emissions of new developments and major renovations as part of annual reporting, adhering to GHG Protocol calculations.

3. Act

Develop a decarbonisation roadmap for property portfolio, setting energy efficiency targets for assets. Implement efficiency measures to reduce energy consumption and secure renewable energy supply through wind and district heating (emissions intensity will reduce in line with grid decarbonisation). Drive low carbon solutions for new developments and major renovations, delivering operational net zero assets maximising embodied carbon reductions and offsetting residual emissions by 2030.

4. Verify

Measure and verify annual energy consumption and whole life carbon emissions data of existing portfolio and new development via an independent third party.

5. Advocate

Continue to advocate for further market transformation through active participation in real estate interest groups in Finland, promote best maintenance and construction processes across portfolio and beyond to supply chain stakeholders. Advise tenants on best practice to reduce energy consumption and increase recycling efficiency.
