1. Commit
Commit to only owning, occupying and developing net zero operational carbon assets by 2030, maintaining net zero carbon business status achieved by end of 2020 (Scope 1, 2 and partial 3).
2. Disclose
Publicly disclose scope 1, 2, and partially scope 3 emissions, in addition to all energy consumption through the Annual Report and CDP.
3. Act
Continue to implement Mace’s (Steps without footprints) strategy that includes actions to reduce energy consumption. Further reduce corporate carbon footprint by 10% each year from 2021-2026. Implement a full programme to improve energy efficiency and maintain the usage of 100% renewable energy.
4. Verify
Verify energy consumption and emissions data via an independent third-party audit. Pursue certification for developed assets using relevant market tools.
5. Advocate
Advocate industry transformation towards net zero buildings through the leadership position in the Construction Leadership Council (CLC). Require all Mace suppliers to have a NZC strategy in place by 2022. Achieve 1 million tonnes of carbon savings in the delivered projects and programs and create 500 hectares of biodiversity net gain.
