1. Commit

Commit to achieving net zero operational carbon emissions across  its building portfolio by 2040. Achieve maximum reductions of embodied carbon for new development and major renovations, and compensate for any remaining residual upfront embodied emissions by 2030, if applicable.

2. Disclose

Disclose Scopes 1, 2 and 3 full value chain emissions via integrated annual report with reasonable assurance and via public CDP disclosure.

3. Act

Committed to achieving net zero carbon emissions across the entire value chain by 2040. Operating on 100% renewable electricity and sending zero manufacturing waste to landfill since 2020, 50% reduction of value chain carbon emissions compared to 2019, and 77% reduction in operational carbon footprint since 2010. Launched its detailed Climate Transition Plan in 2024.

4. Verify

Third-party accountants independently verify all sustainability information in the Signify annual report, including Scope 1, 2, and 3 carbon emissions and energy consumption.

5. Advocate

Committed to doubling its positive impact on the environment and on society through the Brighter Lives, Better World Sustainability program, with the commitments to double the pace of the Paris Agreement’s 1.5 degree scenario, to double Circular and Brighter Lives revenues and doubling the number of women in leadership positions by the end of 2025.

Working with its partners, Signify advocates for two key policies, recommended by the IEA:

  • Double the rate of energy efficiency improvements globally.

  • Manage the decline in fossil fuels while tripling global renewable energy capacity
