NZCB Commitment & The Climate Pledge: Accelerating Decarbonisation

“Signify’s Brighter Lives, Better World 2025 sustainability program aims to double our positive impact on the environment and on society. In the past decade, we have reduced our operational carbon footprint by more than 70% through hundreds of energy efficiency and renewable energy initiatives implemented in factories, offices, logistics, and business travel.

Since 2020, we have been carbon neutral in our own operations and continue sourcing 100% renewable electricity. In the past two years we have extended our efforts beyond our own operations and across our entire value chain, to minimise our impact on climate change and accelerate the transition to a circular economy. In 2022, we helped our customers avoid 21 million tonnes of CO2e through enabling the transition to energy-efficient and connected LED lighting. To combat climate change in our supply chain, we proactively initiated, developed, and supported emission reduction activities at suppliers, resulting in a 24 million tonne reduction in CO2e.

By participating in initiatives such as WorldGBC’s Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment and The Climate Pledge, we are accelerating decarbonisation across the built environment and beyond. As the global sustainability leader in lighting, changing how we run our company is not only a key driver of growth, but also represents a commitment to working with our clients and our partners to make the lighting industry a force for positive environmental change.”
