1. Commit

Commit to operating new and existing buildings within the global portfolio at net zero carbon by 2030 and achieve maximum reductions of embodied carbon in new developments and all major renovations, compensating for any residual upfront embodied carbon. Technopolis will work toward all buildings being operational and embodied net zero by 2030.

2. Disclose

Measure and publicly disclose consumption of energy, water and waste, as well as scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions at portfolio level on an annual basis. Conduct whole life cycle analysis for major new renovations and new developments.

3. Act

Develop and implement Technopolis’ decarbonisation roadmap that outlines a reduction first approach. Proactively reduce demand and decarbonise the portfolio via implementation of energy efficiency measures, procurement of 100% renewable energy and use of advanced analytics and energy optimisation as well as artificial intelligence. Reduce embodied carbon emissions in new building projects and all major renovations, conducting whole life-cycle assessment and compensating of all residual upfront emissions.

4. Verify

Verify energy consumption and whole life carbon emissions annually via an independent third party. Attain certifications for all new developments, with 85% of portfolio LEED and BREEAM certified by 2022.

5. Advocate

Technopolis aims to accelerate industry-wide transformation through decarbonisation of office spaces for tenants, and piloting of new technological, service and business model innovations in real estate properties. Technopolis will incorporate climate issues to communications, advocate and raise awareness to the net zero transition across value chain and to customers. Collaborate and develop new, innovative solutions with stakeholders.
