Meet the new MENA Programmes Head on the WorldGBC team

As we celebrate the start of a new year, World Green Building Council (WorldGBC) is delighted to welcome Amira Ayoub to our Engagement & Networks team.

Amira has taken on the role as MENA (Middle East & North Africa) Programmes Head and will be leading projects such as the Middle East and Africa Green Building Congress and the MENA Sustainable Reconstruction Guidelines. As well as supporting the growth and impact of Green Building Councils (GBCs) across the region, Amira will build new partnerships to support our global mission.

Amira is a sustainability consultant based in Cairo, Egypt. In her previous roles, she has worked closely with Egypt Green Building Council (GBC) and engaged in the International Living Future Institute’s (ILFI) Ambassador programme, which focuses on regenerative buildings. Amira brings a wealth of experience in raising awareness of global climate change, by connecting people to nature through education, as well as designing and consulting in the certifications processes of sustainable and healthy projects.

The team is led by Dominika Czerwinska, Director of Engagement & Networks, with fellow colleagues Juanita Alvarez, Head of Engagement & Networks, Joy Gai, Asia Pacific Programmes Head, Vere Shaba, Africa Programmes Head and Stephen Richardson, Director of the Europe Regional Network.

Dominika Czerwinska, Director of Engagement & Networks, WorldGBC:

“On behalf of the WorldGBC family, I am thrilled to welcome Amira to the team.

“The MENA region is projecting significant growth by 2050, with almost half of the countries in the region expecting their population to increase by at least 50%. This means we need to scale and accelerate our efforts like never before. Amira will help take the collaboration between GBCs in the region to the next level and support new countries in joining our movement.

“With a full team in force, we’re excited to work closer than ever with GBCs all around the world to deliver sustainable built environments for everyone, everywhere.”
