Green Building Council Indonesia progresses to Established Member of WorldGBC

The World Green Building Council is pleased to announce that Green Building Council Indonesia has progressed to Established GBC status within the WorldGBC membership tier. A member of WorldGBC’s Asia Pacific Regional Network, GBC Indonesia’s status progression comes in light of its continued efforts to demonstrate exceptional leadership within the building and construction industry, while growing and educating the Indonesian market, and acting as the primary source of information and collective action on sustainable building in the country.

Surendro, CEO of Green Building Council Indonesia, said:

“We’re delighted to be moving up to the Established status within the WorldGBC movement. It is a validation of the hard work of our team have put in over the last decade and we are thankful to them for working alongside us in reaching this important milestone.

“Green building is collaborative work. As the Green Building movement continues to grow in Indonesia, we will continue working with all stakeholders to ensure that Indonesia, as a country, is moving towards greater sustainability.”

Joelle Chen, Regional Head of WorldGBC’s Asia Pacific Network, said:

“I’m pleased to welcome Green Building Council Indonesia to the leaders’ league at the Asia Pacific Network of Green Building Councils. This progression signifies the excellent work that’s happening in growing the local market for green buildings.  We now have a total of 10 Established Green Building Councils in the Asia Pacific region with increased opportunities to create industry-wide impact, and reach our goal of green buildings for everyone everywhere.”

WorldGBC officially confirmed Green Building Council Indonesia’s progression last week in Toronto, Canada and celebrated this on WorldGBC Members’ Day during Building Lasting Change with WorldGBC Congress Canada.
