WorldGBC’s global project Advancing Net Zero is pleased to present the latest snapshot detailing Green Building Council (GBC) action towards net zero carbon buildings: UKGBC’s Net Zero Carbon Buildings: A Framework Definition.
This is the latest in a series of snapshots detailing key information about GBCs’ action pathways towards decarbonising the buildings and construction sector. There are a total of eight snapshots now completed. Each one reflects a national interpretation of the path to net zero and ties directly to the Advancing Net Zero framework. Each snapshot includes how it relates to each of the four key principles to ensure a coordinated and best practice approach to support the transition towards net zero carbon buildings in the respective market. You can find the rest of the snapshots here.
UKGBC’s Net Zero Carbon Buildings: A Framework Definition was developed with extensive industry consultation and sets out paths to achieving net zero carbon buildings within the United Kingdom. It proposes approaches for assets seeking to achieve net zero for both construction and operational energy, whilst beginning to provide a future direction for addressing whole life carbon impacts.
