HRH The Prince of Wales endorses World Green Building Council

Today, the work of our global green building movement received royal recognition from HRH The Prince of Wales during a video address at the Green Summit 2019 in Manchester, UK.

Prince Charles praised the ambition of the green building movement: “I was delighted to learn that Greater Manchester, along with Oxford and Birmingham, and as part of C40 and the Global Covenant of Mayors had signed the Green Cities and Healthy Streets Declaration. The ambitious targets of that Declaration – and those of, for instance, the World Green Building Council – are an essential part of our ability to keep climate change to bearable levels.”

The Prince of Wales has used his unique position to champion action for a sustainable future for more than four decades. Most recently in 2015, The Prince of Wales established The Prince of Wales’s Corporate Leaders Group (CLG). Convened by the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL), the CLG brings together European business leaders to accelerate progress towards a low carbon, sustainable economy.

Citing our green building movement demonstrates understanding of the importance and necessity of our collective work to a wider audience that can help us move closer to achieving our mission.
