Knauf Insulation Experience Center

The Knauf Insulation Experience Center is a very important exemplary building – it is the first certified sustainable new building in Slovenia, certified according to DGNB, the Active house scheme and serves as a pilot project for LEVEL(s). It is also a pilot project for the Slovenian Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning for gaining practical experience in quality certified sustainable construction within the Slovenian market and preparation of national sustainability construction guidelines.

Sustainable features of the building include:

• Use of excess industry heat for complete heating of the building and water
• Predominant use of highest quality level environmentally-friendly building materials
• 100% score on Indoor air quality criteria
• Demonstration and education centre where activities about sustainable construction and materials for the professional and public are actively organised

• Close proximity to main train station and bus station, with its own charging station for electrical vehicles and a bicycle station
