China has been actively engaged in global climate governance, and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) is committed to aligning with national policies while leveraging its unique strengths.

This side session will share and examine Hong Kong’s role, progress and achievements in addressing climate change through energy transition strategies, green technology development, green finance and nature-based solutions. It will also explore how, in alignment with the 15th Five-Year Plan, Hong Kong can leverage its “One Country, Two Systems” framework and unique position as a connector between the Chinese Mainland and the world to deepen cooperation with neighbouring regions and the international community.
