Ethiopian Green Building Council (ETGBC), established in 2019, is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to promoting sustainable building practices and driving the transition to a greener, more environmentally friendly built environment in Ethiopia. Its mission is to advocate for green building design principles, practices, technologies, and operations while enabling objective measurement and recognition of green buildings. Its vision is a sustainable, zero-carbon-emission built environment in Ethiopia by 2050, with a short-term goal of supporting Ethiopia’s NDC 3.0 target to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 70.3% conditionally by 2035. At its core, ETGBC is committed to creating an inclusive and sustainable future where green building becomes the norm rather than the exception.
