Boping serves as the C40 Regional Director of South East Asia, a global megacities network focusing on climate. In this role, she is responsible for engaging and supporting C40 member cities in the region as well as facilitating collaboration between cities across the global C40 network. Central to this is working with C40 cities across the region towards ambitious commitments and transformative actions to address climate change.
Before joining C40, Boping was the China Director of the World Future Council (WFC), where she helped the WFC to establish an office and promote regenerative cities in China. Here she developed cooperation with Chinese cities to implement the regenerative cities concept, built EU-China cities collaboration with MOU signed under witness by EU-China Heads of State. Previously, she was the Director of Policy and International Strategy of WWF China, leading WWF China’s policy research and advocacy work to contribute to national policy development on green development and global policy agenda such as the SDGs and China’s environmental collaboration with other countries.
Earlier in her career, Boping had experience with both the private sector and government programmes on carbon finance and conservation projects, taking different positions with the Dexia Bank, IT Power Co., Ltd and EU China Forest Management Program under the State Forestry Administration of China.
