Farah Naz is a global leader, public speaker, and multiple award-winning climate change strategist with over 20 years of international experience in the built environment, gained in the USA, UK, Southeast Asia, and most recently the UAE.
Farah seeks to restructure the underlying systems that shape behaviours, policies, and outcomes, supporting systemic change that prioritises environmental responsibility, resource efficiency, and long-term ecological balance. In her innovative role, she focuses on the implementation of best practices and the adoption of concepts, procedures, and technologies related to the Energy–Water–Food Nexus, the Five Capitals Model of sustainability, liveability, and inclusive, integrated innovation frameworks that collectively represent the foundation of future cities and communities.
As the Global Climate Advisory Director at SJ Group, Farah leads the firm’s climate advisory offering and driving strategic climate action through low-carbon, resilient, and people-focused solutions for cities, infrastructure, and communities. She is a Chartered Engineer, trained architect, and Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE).
Farah has led sustainability strategy for landmark projects including the UK’s first net zero carbon school, the Museum of the Future (UAE), Expo 2020 Sustainability Pavilion (UAE), Louvre Abu Dhabi (UAE), and Bee’ah Headquarters (UAE). She was also Technical Director for COP28, driving carbon-neutral delivery for the UAE COP28 Team and UNFCCC.
Author of several books including Net Zero City (UAE/UK)—a multidisciplinary framework for achieving net zero—as well as Mission Zero (UAE), a children’s book promoting climate awareness. Farah is the recipient of the CIBSE Silver Medal (2025, UK), Influential Woman of the Year (2024, UAE), and Green Consultant of the Year (2023, UAE). She continues to advance climate-responsive design and systems thinking across global cities and infrastructure. She is also an academician of the Academy of Urbanism and an affiliate member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
