Roxana Slavcheva is the Global Lead for Built Environment at the WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities, where she leads an international policy team focusing on a multilevel governance approach to subnational and national building decarbonization pathways that are resilient, regenerative and equitable.

Trained as urban economist and liveability expert, she has advised cities globally over the past decade. Roxana has led the international strategy for Connected Places Catapult, the UK’s leading research and innovation accelerator for mobility and the built environment. Prior to that, she was Head of the Cities Practice at The Economist Intelligence Unit, Researcher at LSE Cities, steering committee member of the UK’s Academy of Urbanism Young Urbanists network, and expert advisor to the European Commission’s Net Zero Cities Pilot programme.
