1. Commit

Commit to occupying only net zero operational carbon assets in the UK by the year 2030, and to compensate for any remaining emissions via certified offset schemes.

2. Disclose

Foster + Partners will continue to measure and publicly disclose UK Scope 1 and 2 emissions through SECR and disclose all offsets used for residual emissions. Additionally, every year Foster + Partners will publish a CSER (Corporate, Social and Environmental Responsibility) report that provides detailed information on their sustainability efforts.

3. Act

Foster +  Partners is creating a decarbonisation roadmap for the UN Race to Zero campaign, setting Science Based Targets for 2030 and 2050 by March 2026. Foster + Partners are enhancing energy efficiency of their London campus and offsetting Scope 1 emissions with high quality carbon credits. Nearly all (98%) of their electricity is REGO-backed.

4. Verify

Foster + Partner’s Scope 1 and 2 emissions disclosures are verified by an independent third party, and they provide verified data to demonstrate the impact of advocacy actions.

5. Advocate

As tenants, Foster + Partners advocate for net zero buildings by improving energy efficiency and reducing emissions with each office refurbishment. Foster + Partners will continue to demonstrate leadership and promote the importance of sustainability, net zero, and whole life carbon also through their project work and global industry presence.
