1. Commit

Commit all new developments and major renovations under Rest Super USA Industrial Fund control to be embodied carbon neutral through the use of lower embodied carbon materials, construction processes and offsets by 2030. For all spaces where Rest has direct operational control, commit to implementing energy efficiency measures, using renewable energy and offsetting remaining emissions to achieve net zero operational carbon by 2030.

2. Disclose

Through the use of metering technology, tenant engagement or utility tracking, Rest Super USA Industrial Fund will track energy consumption and operational GHG emissions data from operational assets and disclose annually through WorldGBC. For embodied carbon, Rest Super USA Industrial Fund will engage consultants or use available tools to track or estimate embodied carbon of new developments and major renovations using recognised reporting standards.

3. Act

For new developments and major renovations, Rest Super USA Industrial Fund will assess the embodied carbon impact of building materials, energy efficiency, electrification of building systems, and renewable energy with the goal of maximising embodied and operational carbon reductions. For operating assets, Rest Super USA Industrial Fund will track energy consumption and emissions under landlord-control and implement energy efficiency measures and use of renewables where appropriate.

4. Verify

Use third-party consultants and well-recognised software tools to track landlord-controlled operational emissions and embodied carbon of new development or major renovations. Pursue third-party data verification annually.

5. Advocate

Partner with tenants, local communities, utilities, vendors and contractors to promote sustainability and energy efficiency.
