Davina is a property professional with a broad range of sustainability experience, from environmental projects, not-for-profit boards and overseas community development work, spending 8 months working in the Indian Himalayas on the construction of a school which won multiple international awards. Davina has led the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) since June 2019 and has successfully worked to align GBCA’s strategy with many of WorldGBC’s programs and ensured that this alignment benefited not just GBCA and WorldGBC, but the Australian property industry as well.
Davina’s career has given her a unique perspective on how the GBCA’s global leadership translates into real-world outcomes, and the capacity to articulate the critical role each player has to deliver to affect change. At Stockland property group, one of Australia’s largest real estate companies, Davina led Stockland to the position of most sustainable company globally, for three years. Stockland was recognized in 2016 and 2018 simultaneously holding the Dow Jones Sustainability Index Global Property leader, GRESB Global leader (Retail/Office) and recognised on the CDP Leaders A-list.
Through her many non-executive Director roles, Davina has become a recognised facilitator of outcomes. Davina also brings extensive governance experience and ability to partner with management to drive strategic outcomes. Examples include establishing Stockland’s $8 million CARE Foundation as Company Secretary and launching policy with the Australian Federal Minister as a board member of Australian Sustainable Built Environment Council. Her subject matter expertise within sustainability and rating tools based on Green Star’s role in Australia, New Zealand and South African markets as well as deep engagement with global partners such as the International WELL Building Institute’s global governance council helps to form deeper links between the organisation’s governance and implementation through the global network of Green Building Councils and partners.
