The Europe Regional Network (ERN) is a community of over 20 national Green Building Councils, 7 Regional Partners, and close to 5,000 members across Europe. Green Building Councils in the ERN are from both EU and non-EU countries.

Although there is a growing market for sustainable buildings in Europe, more work needs to be done to ensure that sustainability is embedded across the whole sector value chain. The ERN’s mission is to unite our whole sector through action and advocacy that accelerates the shift towards our vision for a sustainable built environment at the heart of Europe’s future.

To do this our activities include work in the following areas: networking leaders; assessment and certification; awareness raising; skills and capacity building; financial and economic incentives; and policy and regulation.

Our work

The work led by WorldGBC’s global network is underpinned by our strategy – Sustainable Buildings for Everyone, Everywhere and our global programmes.

Each Regional Network works together towards the goals of our global strategy. The Green Building Councils within the Europe Regional Network accelerate the uptake of our global programmes, and lead tailored regional projects that meet the needs of the local market, helping to achieve sustainable built environments for everyone, everywhere.
Six European Green Building Councils are participating in TOP CLeveR (Training and Outreach Programmes for a Circular and Level(s) based Revolution). The project aims to equip construction professionals and workers with the skills needed to address life cycle carbon challenges and the circular approach throughout a building’s life cycle. TOP CLeveR also supports the implementation of the Level(s) Framework by all actors in the value chain.
