WorldGBC is now inviting nominations for our 2026 Board of Directors. This is an opportunity for highly experienced individuals who are committed to accelerating systemic transformation and decarbonisation across the built environment.
We are seeking accomplished leaders with significant non-executive director (NED) experience, a strong global perspective and the ability to provide strategic governance and resource mobilisation at scale.
Full details of this leadership opportunity are outlined in the Board of Directors Role Description.
Nominations must be submitted via this form by 31 March 2026.
Elections will take place at the June 2026 Annual General Meeting, with newly elected Directors serving a two-year term commencing on 1 July 2026.
We believe in strong governance and accountability – to our mission, to the sustainable built environment movement, and to our member Green Building Councils.
And this is the role of our Board of Directors, a group of highly experienced building industry professionals, who are nominated by our Established Green Building Councils and elected by our full membership of Green Building Councils. The Board of Directors are closely affiliated with our members.
The Board’s role is to advise and oversee WorldGBC’s organisational strategy and governance, and to ensure we are operating effectively as a not-for-profit organisation and delivering on our mission.
We follow best practice governance and elect each Board member every two years. Our Executive Committee (Chair, Vice Chair, Chair of Finance and Membership Committee and Chair of Governance and Nominations Committee) is elected every year.
